Children
At St Mary's we love to welcome children and families into our life together because the good news of Jesus is for all of us to enjoy - and for all of us to enjoy together. With that in mind children and families are always welcome across the life of the church, but there are few spaces that are flavoured with them in mind.
Sunday Mornings
Play Mat or Crèche Space
These are a couple of spaces within church that are always available for our younger one's to enjoy. The play mat is just on the right as you come into church and, during the 11am Service, the crèche is set up in the room at the back. Both of these spaces provide an outlet for those who need them, whilst also allowing you to be connected into what's going on in service. Please know that noise is absolutely okay!
Children’s Groups at the 11am Service
During our 11am Service we have a special programme for older children (3-11) although they are also welcome to stay in with everyone else if they would like to. The service starts with everyone together in the main church building, then part way through the children head over to St Mary’s Hall for their group. The children's group is a great space for them to get to know Jesus better - all whilst having fun and making friends. With their group leaders they will enjoy Bible stories, videos, crafts, games, drama, and action songs. The service leader will let you know when it's time for the children to head over to their group, at which point we ask that parents bring them over to the hall to register them.
All Age Services
These happen on the 2nd Sunday of the month at our 11am Service. They are a fun and engaging space to worship God across the generations, and put into practice what it is to enjoy following Jesus together.
Our aim is to make sure every child can be themselves in a safe and welcoming environment. Those who work with children are appointed through interview only, are DBS checked and have safeguarding training.
Midweek
Minis
St. Mary’s Minis runs on Fridays 9.30am – 11.30am (term-time only) and meets in the church hall. Its a warm, friendly, supportive space for babies and toddlers, along with their parents or careers. Every week there is time for free play, a craft, snack time, stories and songs.
Minis+ Plus
Minis+ Plus also happens a couple times a term which draws together minis and the Friday morning coffee morning in the church for some inter-generational fun (10-12).
